2018 Zoning Code and Zoning Map Preview

The 2018 Zoning Code preview is not the official or effective Zoning Code. The currently effective code can be found here. The Zoning Code and Zoning Map previews have been created as a courtesy for people who will be developing after May 2018 to use. The 2018 Zoning Code will not be in effect until May 24, 2018, at 1 p.m. Any changes to that date will be posted on this page.

The Zoning Code will be amended again before all of the changes that stem from the 2035 Comprehensive Plan go into effect. The Bureau of Planning and Sustainability is currently working on an additional zoning code refinement package that will be considered by City Council in early 2018. It will update many cross-references in the Zoning Code and other city titles, update several plan districts to work better with the new mixed use zones, and make amendments to reconcile recently adopted inclusionary housing requirements with the new mixed use zones. In addition, BPS is working on an update to Central City Plan. The code amendments associated with that project will go into effect on the same day as the code amendments associated with the 2035 Comprehensive Plan.  

Note that the 2018 Zoning Code preview is a work in progress. It may have some typos, inadvertent errors and pagination issues. These will be corrected prior to the effective date.
