For Home Energy Assessors

The City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) is committed to ensuring that there is a qualified, skilled pool of home energy assessors ready for home sellers and real-estate professionals to work with once the home energy score ordinance becomes effective in January, 2018.

BPS is partnering with Earth Advantage, the Oregon Department of Energy and Enhabit to create a robust, fair, and open market for home energy assessors. BPS is committed to workforce diversity and to advancing opportunities for historically disadvantaged and underrepresented communities in its work. While BPS has not mandated workforce diversity targets for Portland Home Energy Score, BPS will be working with its partners to create increased opportunities for diverse and historically underrepresented communities in the field of home energy assessment.

If you are interested in becoming an authorized home energy assessor in the Portland Home Energy Score program, please see the Roadmap. This page will continue to expand with relevant resources and information for current and prospective home energy assessors.
