Approximately 40 people attended the second Brooklyn Station Areas Working Group meeting on Thursday, January 30. Staff and participants first continued their discussion from the previous meeting about zoning options for the southern portion of theMilwaukie Avecorridor. People reiterated their support for commercial uses alongMilwaukiethat blend in to the adjacent residential neighborhood. Particular transition issues include the height, scale and pedestrian-friendly nature of new development.
Next, staff presented an overview of the existing conditions and zoning options for the area bounded by Holgate Blvd, 17th St and McLoughlin Blvd. Options include continuing the existing residential and commercial focus of the area, transitioning to more employment-focused uses or a hybrid of commercial, residential and/or employment uses. All options assume the industrial uses along 17th St will remain.
Meeting materials (including the PowerPoint presentation) and the meeting summary are available on the Documents webpage.
