Please join me on April 18, 6 p.m. at City Hall to celebrate the Portland Plan.
The Portland Plan is truly the city's new roadmap to 2035—created by 20 public agency partners over 2+ years with more than 50 public meetings and 20,000 comments from residents, businesses, neighborhoods and non-profits.
For decades, Portlanders have understood the connections among land use, transportation, housing, business, green spaces and people. The results are a prosperous central city and attractive, livable neighborhoods, instead of sprawl.
The Portland Plan builds on this success, but also recognizes new, major actions are needed to create a place where all people are healthy, educated and well-trained for 21st century jobs in a city that is prosperous with affordable housing and transportation, accessible parks and greenspace and a clean environment.
The Portland Plan features integrated strategies to ensure that Portland is prosperous, educated, healthy and equitable. The Plan includes long term policies, short term actions and measurable goals. The final draft plan is available at www.pdxplan.com and will be presented to City Council for consideration/adoption next month.
Go to My Portland Plan at www.pdxplan.com for ideas on what you can do at home, at work or on the road to help Portland reach its goals.
Take a look at the Portland Plan video.
Review the final draft plan and join the crowd at City Hall on April 18 to discuss the Portland Plan with City Council.
Finally, thank you to every one of the 20,000+ people who took the time to study the issues, review early plan drafts, and share ideas, comments and solutions.
Your participation and engagement makes a difference!
All the best,
Bureau of Planning and Sustainability
