Health in Context: Air Quality

Air toxics are found throughout the Metro region, and higher concentrations are found in densely populated neighborhoods, near busy roadways, and in areas with higher levels of business and industrial activity. Common sources include cars and trucks, asphalt, wood burning stoves, boilers, diesel construction equipment, commercial solvents and fuels, lawn/garden equipment, aircraft, ships and trains.

The West Hayden Island Draft Health Analysis relies on data and modeling from the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to describe air quality.
