The Planning and Sustainability Commission (PSC) held a second hearing for the West Hayden Island Planning proposal on November 27 and continued to receive testimony from stakeholders. This was the continuation of the hearing that began on November 15. There was a good turnout for the second hearing and an additional 40 people signed up to testify who were not able to testify at the first hearing. The combined sessions had over 300 people in attendance and over 100 people who signed up to testify.
After two and half hours of additional testimony on November 27, the PSC Chair closed the hearing. The commissioners discussed next steps in the process and asked BPS staff to come back on Dec. 11, 2012. The December 11 meeting will be a work session to discuss the commissioner’s questions, and develop a schedule for their further consideration of this project over the next three months. The public is welcome to attend the work session but no public testimony will be taken.
