Neighborhood Centers Policy Expert Group

Welcome, Introductions and Updates (8:00 a.m.)

Presenter: Steve Faust, Facilitator

PEG members will share observations from centers visits and their ideas for discussion topics for upcoming cross-PEG discussions:

  1. Networks PEG (June 26th, 2 to 3:30 pm, 1900 SW 4th Avenue – Room 7a)
  2. Residential Development & Compatibility PEG (Date TBD, probably early August) 

Comprehensive Plan Update Part 2 Overview (8:20 a.m.)
Presenter: Michelle Kunec-North, BPS
Description: Overview of Part 2 of the Comprehensive Plan Update, which will include refinements to the Urban Design Framework, updates to the Comprehensive Plan Map, and the Citywide Systems Plan (including components of the Transportation Systems Plan).  This will also be an opportunity to discuss the role of the Neighborhood Centers PEG in development of the Part 2 components.

Urban Design Framework Discussion (8:50 a.m.)
Presenters:  Bill Cunningham and Lora Lillard, BPS
Description: BPS staff will share draft updates to the Urban Design Framework diagram, focusing on centers and corridors, and will ask for PEG input on further refinements.  PEG members will divide into small groups to participate in a map-based activity.  Note that the link below is to the Urban Design Framework as published in the January Comprehensive Plan Working Draft Part 1 document, which does not include potential neighborhood centers and other additions that staff will share during this discussion.
