The Residential and Open Space Zoning Map is now available for public review. Comments to be considered for the Proposed Draft will be accepted until December 21.
The project updates Portland’s Zoning Map with a limited number of changes in order to:
- Match newly applied Comprehensive Plan designations to address a variety of situations.
- Help prevent risks to public health and safety in areas with high natural hazard risks, infrastructure constraints and limited urban services.
- Address David Douglas School District capacity constrains by reducing zoning potential until the district can accommodate increased enrollment.
- Rectify various situations including nonconforming density and split-zoned sites to match Comprehensive Plan map designations applied in 1980.
