Draft 2035 Comprehensive Plan hearings continue; public invited to testify to City Council on recommended goals, policies and land use map

On November 19, more than 70 people testified at the first public hearing with City Council on the draft 2035 Comprehensive Plan. Additional hearings are scheduled from now until early January to give more Portlanders a chance to tell commissioners what they think about the recommended draft.

Mittleman Jewish Community Center
6651 SW Capitol Hwy

Thursday, December 10, 2015, 6 – 9 p.m.
Parkrose High School
12003 NE Shaver St

Thursday, January 7, 2016, 6 – 9 p.m.

You must sign up to testify. Testimony sign-up sheets will be available one hour before the start of each hearing. Testimony will be taken in the order that people sign in. Each person may only sign up for themselves. Exception: Attorneys may sign up more than once if they are representing separate clients (e.g., Jane Doe, Esq. representing Mary Q Public and Jane Doe, Esq. representing John Q. Public).

Testimony will be limited to two minutes per person. You must be present when your name is called from the testimony sign-up list or you will lose your turn. If you testified at a previous hearing, please refrain from giving the same testimony twice; rather, present testimony about a complementary or different topic/issue.

When signing up, please include your name and mailing address. Without this information, the City is not able to send you notification of the Council’s final decision, and you may not be able to appeal it.

Testimony on the goals, policies and land use map is currently expected to close at the end of the January 7, 2016 hearing. Additional public hearings may be scheduled after commissioner amendments are considered. Please check the City Council website to confirm dates, times and locations for all hearings.
