The Columbia Willamette Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) held their 2018 Officer Installation Dinner on Friday June 29, 2018 on the Willamette Star. Attending the event from the City of Portland are from Left to Right: Bryan Davis, BES; Debora Leopold-Hutchins, Interim Risk Manager; Kate Wood, City Risk (retired); Jennifer Thomason, City Risk; and Jimmy Gibbons, City Risk.  Jimmy Gibbons was installed as chapter secretary for the upcoming 2018-2019 year. Congratulations!

The June 2, 2017 American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Installation Dinner was held at Tony Starlight's and was attended by city employees including (Left to Right): Kate Wood, City Risk; Barbara Aguon, Parks; Jimmy Gibbons, City Risk; and Debora Leopold-Hutchins, City Risk.

Jimmy Gibbons was installed as ASSE Chapter Secretary for the upcoming year- Congratulations!

The June 4, 2016 American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Installation Dinner was held at Touché restaurant and attended by several employees including (Left to Right): Bryan Davis, BES; Jennifer Thomason, City Risk; Jimmy Gibbons, City Risk; Kate Wood, City Risk; and Debora Leopold-Hutchins, City Risk.

Jimmy Gibbons was installed as ASSE Chapter secretary for the upcoming year- Congratulations!

Mike Cave, Jen Thomason & Jimmy Gibbons, the Loss Prevention Team and Carolyn Williams, R.N., Mangager of the Occupational Health Program have received recognition from their peers and co-workers

   
Carolyns award

Carolyn Williams, R.N., Manager of the Occupational Health & infectious Disease Program, received the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year award for the field of Occupational Health.  She was one of 18 recipients selected from a field of 430 candidates.  

Congratulations!!

The Loss Prevention Team - Mike Cave, Jen Thomason & Jimmy Gibbons - were the recipients of the 2014 Impact - Making the Difference award.  This award was presented by Bryant Enge, Director, at the recent bureau-wide BIBS meeting. It was given in recognition of the positive changes they have made in the City Risk Loss Prevention program and for the impact their hard work has made both in BIBS and Citywide.

Congratulations to Carolyn Williams, RN - Manager of the Occupational Health & Infectious Disease Program

The Oregon State Association of Occupational Health Nurses (OSAOHN) was founded in 1974. It is a professional organization of nurses engaged in the specialty field of occupational health. Membership is composed of registered nurses from Oregon and Southwest Washington. Carolyn Williams has been President Elect and is now the association President.  She attended to national convention were the Chapter accepted the  AAOHN Education Award for Best One-Day Offering. The program was "Transforming Oregon's Medical Care System: Impacts in Occupational Health." It included information on the Affordable Care Act and Oregon’s Community Care Organization model.
