In 2017, Mayor Ted Wheeler proclaimed June 21st as Good in the Hood Unity in the Community Day acknowledging our organization’s mission for the past 26 years; to value and celebrate diversity through entertainment and food while connecting people with resources and experiences that strengthens unity in the community.  The Good in the Hood nonprofit organization believes in continuous community engagement, celebration of diversity and inclusion of our neighborhoods.

The Good in the Hood awarded four students with $1,000 scholarships towards higher education. Providing opportunities and the resources for youth is a high priority for our organization.  They believe that by encouraging and fostering the importance of pursuing higher education contributes in betterment of the community.

In addition, Good in the Hood Non-Profit Organization: • One of the largest multi-cultural festival on the Pacific Northwest • Rose Festival Sanctioned event • We now have more academic institutions as partners • Operating year around, offering more community events, and fundraising events • Provide a venue for volunteer services for youth, college students and community members • Entertainment team provides the finest entertainment in the Pacific Northwest.  • Continue to host one of the most spectacular community parades on this side of the Mississippi.
