The Portland Online Refresh project has been a long running endeavor in coordination with City bureaus and offices. The migration of the City homepage itself marks the final step in the project plan.
The project has been the result of a multi-year effort that included:
- Consultants who reviewed and made recommendations to our website.
- Eight pilot bureaus who provided valuable input and testing to the BTS team as new features were built.
- A team of external community members who tested and reviewed the site for usability.
- City Bureaus who have been migrating to the new site over the past year.
Over 25 bureau sites, two (2) elected office sites, and five custom sites have all migrated to the new design template.
The new City home page has a similar look and feel to the migrated bureau pages. In addition to a more modern design, the new home page is fully automated, providing updated news with minimal effort. Please see the Quick Reference Guide to POG for a summary of new features.
Improvements to the website will be on-going and your feedback is encouraged, especially during these first few weeks. Look for the orange beta button at the top of the new pages to share your thoughts!
Feel free to contact us if you or your Commissioner would like an individual briefing.
