Purpose:

The purpose of this project is to implement the SAP Employee Central cloud solution which will move all City HR Master Data* into this new cloud-based solution and provide new, up-to-date interfaces for HR, bureau OBPAs, and other bureau HR staff members to interact with and maintain the City's HR master data.

This implementation will encompass the movement of all City HR Master Data from the existing system into the new Employee Central system.  This will affect the following functions/modules:  Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Onboarding, and Benefits/Compensation.

This implementation will also set the foundation for the eventual implementation of new Time Management and Payroll systems within Employee Central.

• Employee Communications:  Notify employee automatically when benefit or other HR actions are available to process.

• Real-Time Data Insights:  Benefit from live reporting insights such as staffing rates, succession positions without a ready candidate, etc. to make data-driven decisions.

*Master Data is the single source of common business data used across all systems, applications, and processes for an entire enterprise.  For example:  An employee's personnel number, their emergency contact information, their name, their home address, etc.

Status:

This project is the pre-planning stage.  The EBS Team is currently scoping the project, determining team members, and aligning timelines.  More to come.
