What is Employee Central? |
Employee Central is a cloud-based HR solution with a new, user-friendly and mobile-ready interface that will enable the City to move our HR data into this new solution. It is a SuccessFactors module that encompasses several areas of City data contained within our Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Benefits (BN), Time Management (TM), and Payroll systems. *We will not be implementing Time Management or Payroll in this phase of the project. |
What is Master Data? |
Master Data is the single source of common business data used across all systems, applications, and processes for an entire enterprise. For example: An employee's personnel number, their emergency contact information, their name, their home address, etc. |
What is SuccessFactors? |
SuccessFactors is an SAP software system, used on the cloud, for Human Resource (HR) management. For example, at the City SuccessFactors is the software platform which enables our Learning Management System (CityLearner), our Onboarding System, and our Performance & Goals system (online reviews). Employee Central adds to this system and integrates with the other systems already implemented. |
Why is this change being made? |

What does this replace or change in our existing system? |
This will move our HR Master Data from Desktop SAP (aka ECC) to the Employee Central System of SuccessFactors. It will move all the data from Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), and Benefits (BN). |
