Community Safety

Our city is safer, stronger and more vibrant when all Portlanders are empowered to work collaboratively and creatively on public safety.

The Crime Prevention program is soon to be renamed Community Safety, a model that embraces an inclusive and collaborative vision of safety where neighbors work with each other, with the City, and with community-based organizations to better address a range of public safety considerations related to transportation, emergency preparedness, youth leadership, and more.

The Community Safety Program organizes and supports partnerships to build safe communities that are connected, inclusive and engaged.

To request a Community Safety Training from your Community Safety Team click HERE. Community Safety Teams are made up of 3 teams of 3-4 coordinators per team (North, Central, and East). The neighborhoods served by each team correspond to the current Portland Police Bureau boundary lines (North Precinct, Central Precinct, and East Precinct). See a detailed map and neighborhood list HERE or use the information below to contact your Community Safety Team.
