Multnomah Youth Commission

  • Youth Commission 2017-2018 Multnomah Youth Commissioners with City and County Elected Officials

Office of Community & Civic Life Youth Program works with Multnomah Youth Commission to help get our youth involved in local government decision and policy making. Inspiring the city’s next generation of leaders to get involved in their city government.

Meet the 2018-19 Youth Commission Co-Chairs

Antonia McSwain: Antonia McSwain

"MYC has reinforced the importance of youth engagement to me.  Many great movements have been led by youth. Movements that have changed the whole nation.  That alone leaves an impression on me but to witness youth taking action and actually working with those youth is empowering.  With that being said, civic participation is important, but youth engagement is critical to this work because youth are here to make a change."

Christina LiuChristina Liu:

"Youth’s voices and perspectives play an important role in improving our society.  We know what it is like being youth in our communities and know what kinds of problems need to be fixed.  Bringing youth engagement into important work is essential in creating an environment where youth can feel included and part of the community."
