  • Drug Turn In and Shred Event

Our 2018 drive up and drop off/ turn-in of unwanted/expired prescription drugs and sensitive documents was a success! Drugs will be safely incinerated and documents will be securely shredded on site. By participating, community members reduce the risk of identity theft and misuse of prescription drugs. The Sunshine Division donation barrels were available for donations of canned food, dry pasta, and gently-used clothing for needy families.

Special thanks to community members and event partners: the Portland Police Bureau’s White Collar Crime Unit, Office of Community & Civic Life Crime Prevention Program, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Rivermark Credit Union for the Rx drug turn-in and shred event. At this year’s event we collected:

  • 1,260lbs of Rx Medication
  • 182,000lbs of paper and sensitive documents
  • 1,476lbs of food donations
  • totaling 740 drops/visits by the community
