Adopt-a-Plot Program
Do you enjoy working in the forest? Do you like making your own schedule? If so our Adopt-a-Plot program might be just the right volunteer opportunity for you!
Tryon Creek is a 640-acre State Park located in SW Portland. We have 14 miles of hiking trails and a plethora of educational programming for the Greater Portland community. Many visitors come through the park every day! We have been working for years removing invasive species from the park to keep its natural biodiversity intact. If you choose to adopt an area of the park, you and your family and friends can come to the park at your leisure to work on protecting and preserving the green space. The work includes pulling ivy, cutting it off the base of trees, and pulling/digging other invasive species such as garlic mustard & Himalayan blackberry. We are happy to orient you, train you and offer you support as needed.
