2010- Officer Eric Weber

Crime Prevention Coordinator Katherine Anderson says:

Many of us know people who go to work, do only what is asked of them, and then go home.  However, some of us also know someone that goes above and beyond the call of duty, displaying exceptional enthusiasm and passion for what they do.  One of those people is Officer Eric Weber.  He truly is a community policing officer.

Officer Weber is the district officer for neighborhoods likeBrooklyn, Sellwood-Moreland, and Creston-Kenilworth.  He routinely goes above and beyond what is expected of him to work with the Crime Prevention Coordinator who shares these neighborhoods, as well as consistently works with neighbors to address their concerns.  He attended the neighborhood meetings inBrooklyneven before becoming an Neighborhood Liaison Officer, and routinely shares his cell phone number with neighbors so they can contact him with their ongoing concerns.

This last year, Officer Weber was a key partner in helping shut down a drug house that caused serious problems for neighbors.  His efforts in communicating with neighbors, being proactive and dedicated in his surveillance of the activity at that home, and working with Crime Prevention are greatly appreciated, not only by those particular neighbors, but also by his Crime Prevention Coordinator.

Officer Weber also worked with Crime Prevention to solve other neighborhood concerns, like an area where drug users used to “hang out”, and proactively refers neighbors to Crime Prevention to work on longer term issues.  He consistently includes neighbors and Crime Prevention in his problem solving efforts and truly cares about the neighborhoods he patrols.

Whenever Officer Weber’s name is mentioned in the neighborhood, nobody has anything but glowing compliments for him and the highest esteem.  Thank you Officer Weber for all of your hard work for our neighborhoods!
