Is it OK to have alcohol at my NNO party?

Excessive use of alcohol creates many livability and safety problems in the community. For this reason, alcohol is discouraged at NNO events. Neighbors can have a great time together without alcohol being served. However, the parties are hosted by individuals and organizations, not by the City. For this reason, we can’t prevent party hosts from serving alcohol at their events that happen on private property.* Moderate alcohol consumption is compatible with casual social occasions, and the City can tolerate it if it happens at NNO parties. However, if a party host chooses to make alcohol the main focus of an event (e.g. beer garden), ONI will leave the party off the list of officially-recognized parties.

*Please note: Alcohol is not permitted on public property, such as parks and streets, during NNO parties.
