Everyone is invited to join an ADA walking and rolling tour in the Pearl District on Monday, November 13, at 5:30 p.m. The Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) tour will begin from intersection of N.W. 11th Avenue and Couch Street.
WTS Honorary members Jan Campbell and Noel Mickelberry will join participants on the walk, share their knowledge, and highlight ADA considerations and issues for the walk and roll around the Pearl District. Emphasis will be on Portland's first pedestrian scramble signal at N.W. Couch Street and 11th Avenue. The group will also discuss pedestrian access issues in construction zones.
Jan Campbell works for Multnomah County’s Aging and Disability Resource Connection and for Disabilities through Disability Awareness Resource Team (DART). She serves as the Chair of TriMet’s Committee on Accessible Transportation, the Special Transportation Fund Advisory Committee and as a commissioner on the Oregon’s Disabilities Commission.
Noel Mickelberry is the Executive Director of Oregon Walks. The event with be held rain or shine, dress appropriately for the weather. The walk is free and participants need to register in advance.
Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) is dedicated to excellence in transportation through advancing the voice and professional development of women in the transportation industry. The Portland, Oregon chapter of WTS was established in 1985.
