“Free Falling: The Story of John Fleming, Thrillseeker”
being shown at ILR on March 31
A documentary about John Fleming, the first known skydiver to jump solo while blind, is being shown Saturday, March 31, at 7 and 8 p.m. The short film screening “Free Falling: The Story of John Fleming, Thrillseeker” will be at Independent Living Resources, 1839 N.E. Couch Street.
John Fleming, known as “Blind John” among skydivers, has jumped out of a perfectly good airplane over 1900 times. More than 1200 of those jumps were made after he lost his sight.
The film’s producers are on a mission to tell his story and are inviting the public to see the short film and learn about bringing John’s story to the big screen in a full-length documentary. More information is available on the Free Falling Facebook event page. Learn more about John when he was featured in a Los Angeles Times article.
