Tax Exemption Application for NE Killingsworth Apartments

On Tuesday, April 2, the Portland Housing Advisory Commission (PHAC) will hold a public hearing to discuss a new application for the Multiple-Unit Limited Tax Exemption (MULTE) Program.
The NE Killingsworth Apartments, planned for NE 16th Ave and Killingsworth St, will bring 39 new units to the market, eight of which would be affordable to households at 60% of median family income for the ten-year period of the tax exemption.
The MULTE program provides tax exemptions to private developments that include affordable housing. The Portland Housing Bureau can approve up to $3 million in new tax exemptions between now and June 30, 2020 for projects that applied for building permits or land-use review prior to the February 2017 Inclusionary Housing effective date.
The hearing for the NE Killingsworth Apartments will take place on Tuesday, April 2 as part of the monthly PHAC meeting, starting at 3 pm.
