Register now for June 18 Inclusive Emergency Planning Workshop for Oregon

The Department of Human Services (DHS), the Oregon Health Authority/Oregon Public Health (OHA PH), and the Oregon Office of Emergency Management (OEM) are holding an Oregon Inclusive Emergency Planning (ORIEP) Workshop for Oregon on June 18 at the Salem Convention Center. This workshop will also be streamed online.

Along with the State Independent Living Council and disability-led organizations, these agencies are are bringing together people with disabilities, seniors, disability organizations, and the emergency management community to identify inclusive priorities for Oregon to address in emergency plans.

Help improve emergency planning across Oregon to include persons who experience disabilities. Together, we can work toward emergency planning done with and for all Oregonians.

Attend the Oregon Inclusive Emergency Planning (ORIEP) Workshop if you are an Oregonian who:

  • Experiences visual, physical, hearing, emotional, developmental and/or cognitive disabilities
  • Is part of a group that serves or advocates for people who experience disabilities, or
  • Is interested or has experience in inclusive emergency management.

This workshop is free of charge to all participants. The hosts are offering travel scholarships for people to get to Salem (mileage, hotel, meals) and streaming the workshop online for those who are unable to travel. The workshop will be physically and programmatically accessible (including ASL and CART). Translations of the attached materials into languages other than English will be available soon.
