Are You Earthquake Ready? Presentation on Preparedness

Are you Earthquake Ready?

Presented by Laura Hall

Historic Kenton Firehouse
8105 N. Brandon
July 23, 2019
7:00-8:00 pm

There's a good chance a major earthquake will hit the Pacific Northwest in your lifetime. Come learn how to prepare yourself, your family, and your community for a Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake. We won't just rehash the standard list of items to keep in your kit. We'll walk through what to expect and how to prepare for each stage of a major earthquake: during the shaking, immediately after, and in the days/weeks/months following.

Laura will also speak about how best to stay safe while meeting and working in the Historic Kenton Firehouse Building.

Laura Hall is co-chair of Parents4Preparedness, a group of parents helping other parents advocate for seismic safety in schools. She is also a Team Leader for the Portland Neighborhood Emergency Team program, an earthquake preparedness instructor at Portland Community College, creator of PortlandPrepares.org, and Communications Coordinator for the Regional Disaster Preparedness Organization.
