Joanne Johnson (she/her) is a member of Adapt to Impact and the Disability Program Coordinator. She has 14 years professional experience in identifying and addressing ableism, racism, ethnocentrism, and classism in systems and structures.
Joanne grew up in Michigan and has lived on both the East and West Coasts. Having worked in both government and non-profit roles, she’s well versed in the challenges and opportunities of various sectors. And the challenges of way too much snow.
Joanne can share stories, emerging practices, policy examples, and resources on creating cross-disability, multicultural, multilingual, multi-generational and economically integrated spaces.
Her skills include: systems assessment, policy development and review, community education, facilitation, program and curriculum development, and technical assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act and cross-disability accessibility. She is also trained in systems social work and is a certified ADA Coordinator.
