Community Safety

The Community Safety team is working on new and creative ways to deliver our services to communities during the emergency declaration related to COVID-19.

We are here to support our Portland communities and offering virtual Neighbors Together adapting our training topics. This includes a virtual conversation on how we can all keep connecting, especially with communities without digital access.

Share a picture or a story on social media that spreads hope. How are YOU connecting with others non-digitally while staying home? #KeepConnectingPDX #WeGotThisPDX

A Holistic Approach

The Community Safety Program organizes and supports partnerships to build safe communities that are connected, inclusive, and engaged.

Our city is safer, stronger, and more vibrant when all Portlanders can participate and work collaboratively and creatively on public safety. We support neighbors to work with each other, with the City, and with communities in addressing a broad range of public safety solutions, such as emergency preparedness, personal safety, community advocacy, active transportation, resource fairs, and more.

We asked Portlanders- What does community safety mean to you?

Check out their answers in this video!

The following clip is part of a series with production support by Portland Fire and Rescue.
