The #1 Fleet in North America for 2011

Proud City of Portland CityFleet employees gather in Council chambers to be recognized by Mayor Sam Adams and the Portland City Council for being ranked the #1 Fleet in North America by Government Fleet Magazine, INVERS Mobility Solutions, and the Top 100 Best Fleets in North America Program in 2011.  CityFleet has been recognized as one of "The 100 Best Fleets in North America" five years in a row.

CityFleet is a division of the Bureau of Internal Business Services, which is a bureau within the Office of Management and Finance. The City of Portland owns over 3,050 vehicles and pieces of equipment.  CityFleet offers a full-service fleet management operation to fulfill the City's vehicle and equipment needs.  From acquisition to disposal, CityFleet provides state-of-the-art maintenance, repair, vehicle preparation, fabrication, body painting and body work, and the final disposal of each vehicle and piece of equipment.  CityFleet also maintains an extensive training program to guarantee that mechanics are currently trained and certified in the latest technologies.

The vehicles and equipment are managed by several administrative and technical departments operating on our customers' behalf.  More information about these programs can be found under CityFleet Operations.

CityFleet is responsible for coordinating information, resources, and activities to efficiently provide modern and reliable vehicles to City bureaus. This is accomplished by utilizing a qualified professional workforce, ongoing employee training,  and the latest tools available for testing and vehicle diagnosis. The vehicles are regularly serviced in a preventive-maintenance program, which has helped produce a high level of availability and reliability of the City's vehicles and equipment.
