Portland Oregon Sign Fee Schedule

The City of Portland acquired the Portland Oregon™ Sign in 2010, maintenance fees are currently $28,000 per year. To offset the taxpayer cost of maintenance fees and staff time the City of Portland charges a fee for licensing the Portland Oregon sign trademark.

Fees are based on the licensee’s annual gross receipts.

Non-Profit organizations, Government agencies, and filming licenses
No license fee, assessment of a $50 administrative fee for processing license. IRS documentation is required to qualify for the non-profit rate. Oregon government agencies (state, regional, county, city, public schools, etc.) are exempt from the administrative fee.

Additional Charges
Any requests for changes to the City’s standard Intellectual Property License Agreement will incur a charge for actual staff time at the rate of $250/ hour ($250 minimum). This fee cannot be waived. Unlike other fees listed above, this charge will be assessed regardless of if a license is executed.

Local Discount
Companies that manufacture or have significant services within the state of Oregon are eligible for a 20% discount. Copy of valid Oregon business license required to qualify for local discount.

 

The City of Portland reserves the right to review and change the fee schedule at the discretion of the Deputy CAO. Fees listed are subject to change without notice.
