Portland Fire & Rescue launched its Strategic Planning development process for 2010-15 on November 15, 2009. This 8-month process will culminate in the development of the Strategic Plan document that will guide PF&R as an organization through the next five years.
The Strategic Plan defines PF&R's long-term goals and identifies the best approach for achieving those goals. Specifically, the plan identifies strategic themes, performance measures, objectives, strategies, and activities. To ensure that all of the strategies identified in the Strategic Plan are met over the five year period, it uses an Annual Business Plan to track and measure these activities and progress made.
PF&R develops its Strategic Plan in a comprehensive way that includes extensive involvment from its sworn, non-sworn, and management employees, as well as a broad range of customers and external stakeholders. Ultimately, the 2010-15 Strategic Plan will be presented to the Portland City Council for approval.
PF&R's 2010-15 Strategic Planning development process web page will be available soon on the PF&R website. You can also follow the plan's development on our Fire Blog, Facebook, and Twitter accounts.
