Firefighters Extricae Man Trapped in Industrial Accident
News Release from: Portland Fire & Rescue FIREFIGHTERS EXTRICATE MAN TRAPPED IN INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT

Portland firefighters from Station 22 in St. Johns, responded to the report of a 40 y/o male trapped between a stack of plate steel and a rolling crane at about 6:00 pm this evening. The accident happened at Oregon Steel Mills 10400 N. Swift Ct. in North Portland.
While firefighters worked with personnel from Oregon Steel mills to move several tons of plate steel, fire-medics administered advance life support to the trapped patient. While firefighters worked at extricating and treating the trapped victim, Portland Fire's Technical Rescue Team was dispatched along with Life Flight.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at 6:08 pm and had the patient extricated 59 minutes later. The patient was transport by Life Flight to Emanuel Hospital in critical condition.
