Both incidents started with a very loud explosion and a large smoke plume in the vicinity of Powers Marine Park. The park is located on the west bank of the Willamette River. PF&R Investigators are looking for any information regarding to any vehicles, boats, or persons in or near the park before or after the explosions.
Investigators are also asking that in the event of another explosion – anywhere, not just near the Sellwood Bridge – people be extra vigilant in reporting any activity in the immediate vicinity. Please report descriptions of people or vehicles leaving the area or the license numbers of cars seen parked near the park.
