NEWS RELEASE 05/11/10: Portland Fire & Rescue Respond to Four Car Fires in Two Hours


In the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 11, 2010, Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) responded to four separate car fires in SE Portland in just over two hours:

  1. 2:30 am: SE Yamhill & MLK Blvd. -- 2004 Ford work van $8,325 loss
  2. 4:07 am: SE 37th & Harrison St. -- 1997 Honda Civic $5,000 loss
  3. 4:10 am: SE 45th & Ivon St. -- 1995 Toyota Tercel $2,500 loss
  4. 4:22 am: SE 52nd & Clinton -- 1985 Toyota Pickup $1,000 loss

All of the fires are currently under investigation and do appear suspicious. PF&R investigators are asking for anyone who saw anything suspicious or out of the ordinary last night to call the arson hotline at (503) 823-3791.
