Updated smoke alarm data covering 2005 to 2009 is now available on the Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) website. The Data Unit of the OSRM has compiled and created a two-page fact sheet that covers smoke alarm data in residential fires only. This data was reported to the OSFM by Oregon fire departments as of January 31, 2010.
Data categories in the fact sheet include presence of alarm, alarm performance, alarm failure, and alarm power supply. Also included is a graph showing the trend of injuries and deaths in residential fires where smoke alarms were not present or did not operate.
