NEWS RELEASE 05/27/10: Portland Fire & Rescue Investigators Arrest One Person For Arson


Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) fire investigators arrested Tonya Renee Smith, date of birth March 4, 1974, for her connection to a fire at 1525 N. Webster in Portland, Oregon on May 27, 2010 at 12:16 am. The fire caused $65,000 in property damage. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.

Ms. Smith is being charged with one count of Arson in the first degree. If convicted, Ms. Smith faces a maximum jail sentence of 20 years and a $50,000 fine. The arraignment will be at 1:30 pm in Multonomah County.

This case is still under investigation and no further details are being released at this time by PF&R fire investigators.
