Fire Chief John Klum welcomes and encourages citizens to stay safe during the summer months.
Fire Chief John Klum helped Portland Parks and Recreation (PP&R) Director Zari Santner to help welcome summer to the City of Portland at the PP&R Summer Kick-off Event this morning at the Peninsula Park Community Center.
Lieutenant Steve and Firefighters Terry, AJ, and Mike from Engine 8 were on hand to pass out fire badge stickers and summer safety tips.
Citizens were invited to learn about the events, activities, and projects that Portland Parks and Recreation has to offer kids and families from June until September. A number of the events are absolutely FREE to citizens including Movies in the Park, Concerts in the Park, Washington Park Summer Festival, Swim Programs, Rock Climbing Wall, and Playground Programs.
