Portland Firefighter Trevor from Station 28 was in the right place at the right time.

Enjoying a neighborhood function in April, Firefighter Trevor and a local citizen named Greg Bell struck up a conversation. As they spoke, the wheels turned in Trevor’s mind and he realized that he was speaking face-to-face with the author of one of his favorite motivational books. Trevor told Greg how impressed he was that the University of Oregon football coach had made Greg’s book a mandatory reading requirement for his players and that had been Trevor’s motivation to read the book.

Greg is the author of Water The Bamboo™: Unleashing the Potential of Teams and Individuals.  He is recognized as a leading resource in the areas of inspirational speaking, change management, teambuilding, leadership, relationships, and communication. Water The Bamboo™ provides simple exercises and practical examples to help teach the reader new ways to thinking about goals, and developing strategies and motivation to achieve those goals.

Greg was so impressed that Firefighter Trevor knew of his book and work that he decided to visit to Station 28.

Greg brought his family and three other families to visit and learn about Station 28 located off of Sandy Blvd in NE Portland. Greg even signed copies of his book for the on-duty crew and left extra signed copies for the off-shifters. The crew spent the rest of the day reading and discussing Greg’s book.
