September 20, 2010 -- On September 9, 2010, the Gateway Area Business Association (GABA) announced their 10th annual “Citizen of the Year” and honored public safety first responders at an outdoor gathering in NE Portland.

The Hazelwood Neighborhood Association was presented with the 2010 Citizen of the Year Award for their active participation and commitment to community accomplishments and business success.

Also at the gathering, Portland City Commissioner Randy Leonard presented a commemorative plaque to Portland Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Chris and Fire Station 30’s Lieutenant Phil and Firefighters Sean, Mike, and Matt. The plaque reads, “Gateway Area Business Association honors Portland Fire District 30 for unwavering service as first responders to our community.”

Commemorative plaques were also presented to Portland Police officers from East Precinct and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.

Congratulations to all of the recognized individuals and organizations that provide continued service in NE Portland.
