September 20, 2010 -- Two weeks ago Saturday, Portland firefighters marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks with an annual ceremony that included an Honor Guard posting of the colors, firefighter prayer, tolling of the bell, and reading of the names of the fallen New York Fire Department firefighters.
Firefighters from Portland Fire & Rescue’s Station 3 in NW Portland organized the ceremony with the goal of helping other firefighters remember the 343 fellow firefighters, 23 New York Police Department officers, and 37 Port Authority police officers who died on 9/11.
