NEWS RELEASE 09/22/10: Portland Fire & Rescue Responds to House Fire in SE Portland

Portland firefighters responded to reports of a house fire at 3241 SE 175th Place, between SE Tibbetts Street and SE Haig Drive, at 9:34 am today. On arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the rear and underneath the eaves of the house. Initial reports indicated that occupants may have been sleeping inside the home. A search revealed that all occupants evacuated safely.
Firefighters cut vent holes in the roof of the garage and attic, which was full of smoldering material, to finally knock down this fire. Fire investigators are on scene investigating the fire's cause. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
