The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSA) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from thousands of types of consumer products. In November 2010, CPSA announced close to 30 product recalls. Several items were recalled because they create fire hazards - this included chest freezers, ceramic heaters, metallic taper candles, camping stoves, and mini-tillers. Portland Fire & Rescue wants to make sure you’re aware of the below recalled products:

• Camping Stoves and Equipment Recalled by Katadyn North America Due to Fire Hazard
• Children’s Hooded Jackets and Sweatshirts with Drawstrings Recalled By VOS Sports Due To Strangulation Hazard
• Full Speed Ahead Crank Sets Used By Numerous Bicycle Manufacturers Recalled Due To Crash Hazard
