Product Recalls in November 2010

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSA) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from thousands of types of consumer products. In November 2010, CPSA announced close to 30 product recalls. Several items were recalled because they create fire hazards - this included chest freezers, ceramic heaters, metallic taper candles, camping stoves, and mini-tillers. Portland Fire & Rescue wants to make sure you’re aware of the below recalled products:
- Cub Cadet Recalls Utility Vehicles Due to Risk of Loss of Control
- Meijer Recalls Oscillating Ceramic Heaters Due to Fire Hazard
- Metallic Taper Candles Sold Exclusively at Yankee Candle Stores Recalled by General Wax & Candle Company Due to Fire Hazard
- Robert Bosch Tool Corp. Recalls Bosch Hammer Drills Due to Electrical Shock Hazard
- L.L.Bean Recalls Folding Camp Rockers Due to Fall Hazard
- Stainless Steel Carafes Recalled by J & H International Due to Burn Hazard
- Bassettbaby Recalls to Repair Drop-Side Cribs Due to Entrapment, Suffocation and Fall Hazards
- Camping Stoves and Equipment Recalled by Katadyn North America Due to Fire Hazard
- Children’s Hooded Jackets and Sweatshirts with Drawstrings Recalled By VOS Sports Due To Strangulation Hazard
- Full Speed Ahead Crank Sets Used By Numerous Bicycle Manufacturers Recalled Due To Crash Hazard
