Portland Fire & Rescue responded on a structure fire this early this morning at the New Columbia housing site located at 9256 North Woolsey Avenue in Engine 26's response district.  Pre-arrival reports indicated that a bedroom on the second floor of a two story, wood frame, four-plex was involved in fire.  Upon arrival, E26 reported fire showing from the upstairs windows.

Crews quickly made access into the involved occupancy and were able to knock the fire down before it extended into the attic space.  A quick search confirmed that all occupants were out of the structure and accounted for.  The fire was contained to the upstairs of that unit with only light smoke in adjacent units.  A family of four was displaced, one adult female and three children.

The residents were able to relocate to a friend's house for the time being.  No injuries were reported.  Damage estimates were $30,000 to the structure and $10,000 to the contents.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
