Product Recalls in January 2011

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSA) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from thousands of types of consumer products. In January 2011, CPSA announced 36 product recalls. Several items were recalled because they create fire hazards - this included generators, food dehydrators, propane gas sold in portable cylinders, LED lamps, programmable thermostats, dehumidifier, and oven rack guards. Portland Fire & Rescue wants to make sure you’re aware of the below recalled products:

It is very disturbing to see that about 96% of the recalls were manufactured in China/Southeast Asia. It's time that manufacturers stop outsourcing to those countries and bring manufacturing and jobs back home to the U.S. You are doing us a big service by publishing this information. Thank you.
