to locate records on underground storage tanks
On January 20th at City Hall, Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) Lieutenant Rick and Firefighters Matthew, Earnest, and Wy-Lee were sworn-in as Fire Inspectors.
The four new fire inspectors will undergo 12 weeks of intensive training to further develop their knowledge of fire codes, emergency planning and preparedness, automatic sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and hazardous materials storage and use. Fire inspectors will also study the International Building Code, which addresses fire and life safety requirements in building construction and design.
Fire inspectors will also learn to use specialized software to manage information about business occupancies in the City of Portland and their fire prevention inspection records and history. Fire Inspectors serve one-year probation and will continue to progress into more complex prevention activities with the guidance of more seasoned veterans.
