PF&R Recruiting Officer Attends Job Fair, Encourages All to Consider a Career in Firefighting

On March 4th, Portland Fire & Rescue’s (PF&R) Recruiter Terry Foster attended the Portland Metropolitan Workforce Training Center Job Fair at Portland Community College to talk with students about career opportunities with the Fire Bureau.  Foster outlined the process for PF&R's upcoming Firefighter Recruitment that will open on June 20th for individuals to sign up to take the firefighter test.  The written-test will take place on August 1st. Click here for additional information about the upcoming enrollment and testing steps.

Terry encouraged all students - regardless of their age, experience, education, or size - to consider a career in firefighting.  He also gave an overview of the upcoming testing process phases and the physical agility test that all successful applicants must be able to pass to move on in the testing process.

After the presentation, Foster was on hand to answer many students' questions.
