Firefighters Train on ATV's at Air National Guard Base

Portland Fire & Rescue conducted All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) training at the Air National Guard Base in Portland on June 24th, 25th, and 26th.

In-house instructors taught two classes each day from 8:30 am to 12:30pm and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  The class is required for Portland firefighters to be approved to drive one of PF&R's four ATV's.

Currently, there are two ATV's housed at Station 22 in North Portland and two at Station 29 in SE Portland. The instructors were Lieutenant Mike H. from Station 8, Firefighter Joe T. from Station 22, Firefighter Jeff W. from Station 22, and Lieutenant Rick B. from Station 18. Instructors trained a total of 23 members.
