Portland Fire & Rescue Responds to a Residential Fire

At 6:15 pm today Portland Firefighters were dispatched to a residential fire at 2445 NE Everett St. When they arrived firefighters found fire in the basement of a two story home. Firefighters quickly located and extinguished the fire. The homes occupant (who was home when the fire started) got out safely.
Investigators determined that this fires cause was electrical. This fire caused Approx. $2500 in damage. The early call to 911 and the quick action of firefighters kept this fire confined to one room in the basement, although the entire basement suffered smoke damage. No one was injured in this fire.
Portland Fire & Rescue asks that residents call 911 immediately when lives or property are at risk, because seconds count.
