Portland Fire & Rescue responded to reports of smoke coming from the window of a vacant home near the corner of N. Minnesota Ave and N. Blandena Street. Upon arrival the incident commander reported that smoke was indeed showing from a second story window on the front side of the structure. The address was only 3 blocks from Station 24, and and a combination of quick response and an aggressive interior attack by Engine 24 firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to the entire structure. A rapid search of the structure revealed that nobody was inside the home.
Portland Fire Investigators are currently onscene working, no fire cause or damage estimates have been determined.
