At 3:51pm, crews responded to a house fire at 12120 SE Ankeny St. Upon arrival firefighters found a kitchen fire, they also found a number of people out in front of the house. While some of the firefighters worked to get a quick knock down of the fire, and search the house for victims, others checked out the people in front.
Some of the residents had taken a hose from next door to try to fight the fire themselves. Two of the residents had minor injuries. A man had a laceration on his hand and minor smoke inhalation. A woman had some minor burns and moderate smoke inhalation. Both patients were transported to Portland Adventist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Portland Fire & Rescue reminds people that if there is a fire, get out and stay out. Never go back into a house on fire.
