Firefighters Circle the Court at Diabetes Health & Wellness Event

Portland's Lloyd District Station 13’s Engine and Truck were dispatched to the Rose Garden Arena just before 11:00 am on Sunday, November 13, 2011. The firefighters weren’t responding to a traffic accident, house fire or emergency medical call.  In fact, they were on their way to show their support at a local diabetes health and wellness event.

Firefighters arrived right on time to help kick off the Chris Dudley Foundation’s second-annual Pacific Northwest Diabetes Week (PNDW) “Circle on the Court” event. Free to the public, the event featured health screenings, diabetes education, take-home resources and tips and resources on living and eating well with diabetes.

Alongside the live music, food, mini sports clinics, and meet and greet of celebrities Chris Dudley and Dominique Wilkins, attendees were treated to a tour of Station 13’s Engine and Truck by Captain Rob, Lieutenant Jeff, and Firefighters Paul, Laurent, Kyle, Michael, Jason, and Robert.
